It can be musically transparent when required but also excels in sound design and manipulation thanks to its powerful Direct Note Access technology, which allows you to alter notes within chord in audio files. Let us know how it all works out and if there are any question, don't hesitate.Melodyne is the king of pitch correction. Once you have checked that everything is working as it should, you should be safe to try the trial version of Melodyne.

Starting Logic for the first time will also involve a full AU scan, again something to plan for if you have a lot of AUs. Once the Mac has booted from the new drive, it will want to do some indexing and other household tasks so allow some time for that. Once cloning is succesfully completed, you could proceed by powering down the Mac, removing your system drive (this isn't absolutely necessary, you can choose to reboot from the cloned drive by holding the Alt key when booting the Mac). Depending on the size of the drive and the amount of data, loning may take 2 or more hours.

Once the drive is formatted, open CCC and select your system drive as source, the new drive as destination. WIth an external USB drive, just connect it to a free USB slot. Reconnect everything, boot the MAc and open disk utility.
#USE MELODYNE 4 INSTALL#
If you decide to go with a "naked" HD to install internally, power off the computer, open the side panel, remove one of the 4 HD holders, screw the HD into this and carefully slide back into place, ensruing that the. This is pretty self explanatory in Disk Utility. In all likelihood, the HD is already NTFS formatted for MS windows, if so, you need to reformat it to use in your Mac. I would choose OSX extended as a file format. If you are unfamilar with disk utility, it is installed on your Mac in Macintosh HD/applications/utilities. There is a 30 day trial version which I think is fully functional (IMO CCC is well worth purchasing, and no, I don't have anything to do with them, am just a satisfied customer!)Ĭonnect the test drive to your Mac, and make sure it is formatted correctly, using Disk Utility. FWIW I use Carbon Copy Cloner, available from (you will need to check that they have a version which is still compatible with OSX 10.7.5).

Next, you need software to clone your System HD. Otherwise, an external USB drive will do fine. If one of those slots is unused than you could put a HD straight in there.

#USE MELODYNE 4 PRO#
From your first post I understand that you are using a Mac Pro with space for 4 internal SATA HDs or SSDs (SSD with adapter). FOr the purposes of testing a SATA Hard Drive is fine. An empty Hard Drive or SSD, not smaller than your system drive. Hey, one can never have too many good plug-ins, right? PLEASE HELP!įirst of all, what you need. Logic Pro 9 Pitch Correction, Antares Auto Tune 8.0 and 8.1, iZotope Nectar 2 pitch correction, and Waves Tune (part of my Waves Mercury Bundle), but I was very impressed when watching videos (info) on Celemony's Melodyne 4. PS: I currently have the following pitch correction/shift plug-ins installed and running on my system: As they say, "If it aint broke don't fix it". that is why I have no intention of going to any operating system above OSX 10.7.5 or moving to Logic Pro X (losing my 32bit plug-in usage capability as Logic Pro X does not have a 32bit to 64bit bridge like Logic 9). I DO NOT want to download and install the trial version of Melodyne 4 and have it corrupt/damage/destroy my OSX 10.7.5 or Logic 9.1.8 or any of my dozens of installed plug-ins. Everyone is telling me to download and install (try installing and using) the trial version of Melodyne 4 from Celemony's website. I cant seem to get a straight answer from anyone, Celemony included, wether their Melodyne 4 Editor version, will install and operate properly on my system, running logic. I am very interested in purchasing and installing Celemony's Melodyne 4 on my MAC Pro (Intel Dual 2.66ghz processors, 12-Core, 32gig ram) running OSX 10.7.5 and Logic Pro 9.1.8.
